In the Bliesgau, people think holistically: such a biosphere reserve is always initiated by UNESCO and ensures sustainable developments in the respective region in ecological and economic, but also in social terms. This means that anyone who decides to spend their summer holidays in the Bliesgau in the southeast of Saarland will not only find a gently rolling landscape with wide vistas, a well-developed network of hiking trails and, thanks to its proximity to France, numerous culinary offerings of the highest quality. No - here you can also be sure to spend your vacations in harmony with nature and for the benefit of the inhabitants.

The premium hiking trail Blies-Grenzweg, for example, starts in Kleinblittersdorf-Sitterswald and runs for 16 kilometers past meadow orchards to the French farming village of Blies-Guersviller. For cyclists, the well-marked Saar Cycle Path or the Saar-Nahe Easter Path are available - and the refreshment stops in the sometimes almost primeval forest-like Bliesgau Biosphere provide ample breaks anyway. Another tip: If you would like to spend the night in an original accommodation, you could do that in the Glamping Resort Bliesgau do: Cottage and tent comfort at its best, very close to nature.

If you stay overnight and have the guest card "Saarland Card", you can use the train and bus in the Saarland for free and you also have free admission to some excursion destinations. Inform yourself here.
