Apples and wine, nuts and cheese: In autumn, the culinary wealth of Lake Constance bears the most beautiful fruits. And these will be extensively celebrated at the Genussherbst from 09 to 23 October 2021 at tastings, tours and talks

In the air is the scent of apples and pears. Nuts and pumpkins want to be harvested, and wine is diligently pressed. In October, Lake Lindau, the largest fruit-growing region in Bavaria, is particularly tempting. And will therefore be thoroughly celebrated again this year as part of the Genussherbst. In October it is called: Come in to the land of milk and honey! In five locations on Lake Constance, you can taste and smell, touch and feel, taste, look and learn at very different events. Because as the Italian poet Giacomo Leopardi so aptly said? "The world belongs to those who enjoy it."

For the eighth time in a row the Lake Constance region shows what it has to offer in terms of culinary culture. Winegrowers, farmers and fishermen let you look over their shoulders as they work. Local producers and experts talk shop; restaurant kitchens and wine cellars provide an insight into professional processes. All local professionals are united by the insight that people are what they eat. And they all vouch for the origin of their products and their unique value.

Whether vegetables, fruit, wine or grain - the growers benefit from the mild climate around the great lake. The two-week program takes place in five Lake Constance towns: Lindau with its Mediterranean flair, Bodolz with its fragrant orchards, gourmet paradise Wasserburg as well as in Nonnenhorn, which is known for top vintners and excellent gastronomy. And since pleasure knows no borders, the Austrian neighbors from Bregenz with their colorful cultural and gastronomic scene are also part of the party.

As always, the Genussherbst presents at Lake Constance a lush program in every respect. You just have to decide, and that's hard enough! Join the barbecue course in the restaurant kitchen or taste fine brandies? Join the fifteen-kilometer pleasure hike, or swing to live music at the inn? Let yourself be presented with high-quality whiskies, the finest rums and the finest gins on the ship or try Fairtrade coffee with chocolate made from wild cocoa beans?

Dates and highlights: The Genussherbst will take place from 09 - 23 October 2021 in the towns of Lindau, WasserburgNonnenhorn, Bodolz and Bregenz. The highlights of the lavish program include the Seaside Whiskey Festival in Bregenz, the Genusswanderung in Wasserburg and the wine experience tour in Nonnenhorn. Many restaurants in the participating towns have also created their own autumn menus.
