What may look at first glance like a tropical river in the jungle is located in Brandenburg and is best explored by a traditional local watercraft.

By train to Bad Liebenwerda: Plan arrival

Between Berlin and Dresden in the south of Brandenburg lies an enchanting region: the Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft Nature Park with the Little Spreewald and the spa town of Bad Liebenwerda. A tour in an original Spreewald punt with a dozen seats including a table is a relaxing, unique experience for guests. The ferryman steers the boat through the widely ramified river landscape of the Kleine Elster full of water lilies and water roses. Tree frogs and swans are in their element here, and beavers have left their traces on the banks in the form of gnawed tree trunks. The punt trip starts, for example, from the landing stage in the small town of Uebigau-Wahrenbrück, where you can also rent canoes and visit a historic mill after the river tour. The Little Spree Forest is part of the Niederlausitzer Heidelandschaft Nature Park with its romantic moors and orchards, which can be explored by bike or on foot. In the midst of the park lies Bad Liebenwerda, where spa operations began as early as 1905. Here, near the city center, the "Garden of the Senses" awaits you - in the concert shell you can listen to a spa concert and forget about time.

The special tip: In the Nature Park House Bad Liebenwerda visitors can find a lot of information about the nature and development of the surrounding park.

Good connection by train: It takes about two hours to get to Bad Liebenwerda from Berlin's main train station, and just over an hour from Dresden, from where a bus departs for Uebigau-Wahrenbrück.
