Our tip

Get on, get off, simply arrive - an InterCity train runs daily from Stuttgart directly to Oberstdorf in the Allgäu region. On Saturdays, you can travel to Garmisch-Partenkirchen on an ICE train from Dortmund via Frankfurt and Nuremberg. The Chiemgau and Berchtesgaden can be reached by InterCity from Hamburg via Kassel and Würzburg without changing trains. There are also direct connections from Frankfurt/Main to Regensburg and Passau - every 2 hours by ICE. By the way, there is also a daily direct ICE train to the Danube Valley from Hamburg via Hanover and from Berlin via Halle(Saale).

At Ammergau Alps Nature Park bus and train travel is free with the electronic guest card and also with the KönigsCard, which additionally offers many leisure benefits. For free travel on buses and forest trains, 25 communities in the Bavarian Forest the Guest Service Environmental Ticket (GUTi). At Nature Reserve Allgäu High Alps As a guest in Bad Hindelang, you receive free bus rides with the Allgäu Walser Card and enjoy numerous other benefits. The guest card Bad Hindelang PLUS also allows you free travel with the local mountain railroads. The spa card on the other hand is valid in the Berchtesgadener Land National Park as a ticket for any number of trips during your vacation.
