Müritz National Park: More than just lakes!

The Müritz National Park with its status as a UNESCO World Heritage Site and the numerous lakes of the Mecklenburg Lake District are of course attractive - but the many manor houses and manor houses are also worth a visit.

What do you do on Europe's largest inland waterway with over 1000 bathing and fishing lakes? Exactly: water sports and water fun. Especially since - and this should not go unmentioned - interesting excursions ashore are always tempting: Those who dock in Mirow, for example, can take a look at a chic historical baroque castle on the castle island and also have a good time with or about Ole, the most popular harbor master in the entire lake district.

Attractive destinations can be found not only on the water, not even in the Mecklenburg Lake District. If you leaf through the "Excursion map to 100 manor houses and estates" in the region, you will get a small taste of Mecklenburg's stately past. In many of these houses you can also spend the night or at least dine excellently. Those who stay at Ulrichshusen Castle, for example, or in a baroque manor house from the 17th century, the Ludorf Manor House, know how the landed gentry felt in the old days - and have plenty to talk about back home.
