Magnificent villas in the style of spa architecture, the longest pier in Germany, an endless stretch of white sand: Heringsdorf is considered by many holidaymakers to be the most beautiful and classiest of the famous imperial spas on Usedom. If you stay in dignified accommodation such as the four-star superior Hotel Strandidyll Heringsdorf, you can spend a top-class vacation here - with endless moments of pleasure guaranteed.

The combination of white sand, deep blue sea and green nature all around has always attracted vacationers from near and far. Magnificent spa architecture villas with large green parks served as summer residences for the world's rich and famous as early as the 19th century, so it is no coincidence that Heringsdorf is now one of the imperial spas on Usedom. Today, the seaside spa on the sunny island of Usedom is just as popular with discerning connoisseurs as it is with happy families with children and holidaymakers in search of peace and quiet. Almost every wish is fulfilled in fine accommodation such as the four-star superior Hotel Strandidyll Heringsdorf, whose motto is: The great spa tradition obliges.

On the longest beach promenade in Europe

The Hotel Strandidyll, part of the Travel Charme group, is perfectly located directly on the longest beach promenade in Europe, which runs for twelve kilometers along the sparkling blue sea and is wonderfully comfortable for a stroll. It is only a few steps to the soft, white sandy beach, and right next door, Germany's longest pier juts 508 meters into the Baltic Sea waves. All around, there are endless beach chair rentals and water sports facilities, as well as enchanting hiking and cycling trails, lots of culture and stores and many other attractions. But you don't actually have to leave the Hotel Strandidyll to experience an enjoyable vacation.

With its harmonious architecture in warm colors, the hotel is located in an almost Mediterranean-style park, the fragrant greenery is accompanied by the sound of the sea. The hotel embraces guests like a caring home from home. For example, if you have just been on a hike or bike ride through the nearby 187-hectare coastal forest with its healing sea and forest air, you can now relax with a cozy tea time. To accompany classic treats such as homemade scones, clotted cream and fruit tarts, the TeaMaster recommends a selection of 30 high-quality loose teas. Meanwhile, fine piano music floats through the house - wonderful.

Afterwards, a visit to the wellness area may be tempting, for example for a swim in the heated indoor and outdoor pool with a splash shower and counter-current system; a swim-through channel connects the two pools. The sanarium, a steam bath with heated walls and seats, the 90°C Finnish sauna and an ice crusher provide refreshment and revitalization for body and soul, and the iodine-rich Baltic Sea air, enriched with salt, magnesium and minerals by a brine graduation plant, has a beneficial effect on the respiratory tract and skin. In the fitness room with a view of the parkland, modern equipment such as a cross trainer and multifunctional pull tower await, there are courses à la Stretch & Relax and Back Fit as well as massages - or you can treat yourself to an evening yoga retreat with Ekaterina, who gently slows you down through concentrated movement and breathing.

"Deep-sea diver" or "Saint Jacob"?

This is followed by another highlight of the day, dinner, served in the hotel's two restaurants. The Giardino with its view of nature offers regional and Mediterranean delicacies, ranging from Picandou goat's cheese with truffle vinaigrette to Greifswald Mettwurst sausage with kale. Even finer, guests dine under the hotel's striking glass dome with a breathtaking view of the Baltic Sea. Dishes such as "Heiliger Jacob" (scallops, blueberries and Jerusalem artichokes) or "Tiefseetaucher" (turbot, walnut, salt lemon and vin jaune) pamper the palate. Or treat yourself to some time together with a candlelight dinner with a 4-course menu and candlelight - it could hardly be more romantic.

After a cocktail or a top-class drink by the fireplace in the club bar, it's off to cozy quarters for the night. The 143 cozy rooms and suites almost all have a balcony or terrace and their warm tones create a link to the beach and nature. If you want something really special, you can book the exclusive 60 m² tower suite on the fourth floor - with panoramic views, its own fireplace, sauna and whirlpool, it leaves nothing to be desired.

And the next day, there are so many more attractions waiting for vacationers in and around Heringsdorf. A hike or bike tour, for example, along the island's 400-kilometer network of paths with its beaches, fishing villages, cliffs and lakes, meadows and forests along the Achterwasser. The 19-hole Baltic Hills Usedom golf course is just a 10-minute drive from the Hotel Strandidyll and is beautifully embedded in nature. And in summer, you can explore the island from a completely different perspective. A convenient shuttle service takes guests from the hotel to Wolgast harbor, where the sailing schooner "Weisse Düne" is already waiting. With a length of 46 meters, the flat-bottomed ship once served as a cargo barge, today it makes day or longer trips for holidaymakers - why not enjoy a romantic dinner tour under full sail?
