Sweet dreams!

Half the happiness of a vacation often depends on the right accommodation - especially for families. It should be cozy. Warm hosts would be great. And of course a good location that invites you to go on tours and adventures together. In Brandenburg, parents and grandparents with children are very welcome - not only, but also in hotels. Here is our little accommodation guide:

1

Camping vacation - being in the front row

Brandenburg's lakes and extensive landscapes are an invitation to spend a vacation close to nature. And especially travelers with smaller children usually feel particularly comfortable in the countryside. Brandenburg is also a camping and lakeside state. It doesn't matter whether you end up at the five-star Komfortcamping Senftenberger See or a small, largely natural site. Often you can spend the night with a view of the lake, go swimming first thing in the morning, borrow canoes or boats, or explore the watery surroundings on bike tours and walks. The little ones can finally have a good romp. Because usually there are playgrounds, partly in the summer also a real family program. And if you don't have a camper, a caravan or a tent, you can simply rent a domicile at the campsite. This way you can get to know - and love - this particularly relaxed form of vacation without any obligation.

Plus:

* Closeness to nature

* often located directly on the lake

* Greatest possible flexibility and freedom

2

Vacation home - home for a while

Ideally, a vacation home is as cozy as your own home, but as far away from everyday life as possible and in a charming environment. Parents or grandparents with children love apartments because they offer comfort and flexibility in equal measure: You can eat when you want, usually don't need to be too quiet. Everything from a microwave to a washing machine is often available. And maybe you have your own small garden in front of the door. Accommodations such as the houses in the vacation park Scharmützelsee or in NOVASOL Hafendorf Zerpenschleuse offer individualists enough retreats, but at the same time have great offers for families, such as sports and playgrounds or restaurants on site or in the immediate vicinity. Typical Brandenburg and particularly charming are also old manor houses or facilities built in the style of old farms, such as the ensemble Altes Backhaus Burg in the Spreewald.

Plus:

* Comfort and flexibility

* Recreational opportunities on site

* often on the lake or in a beautiful location

Farm vacations - enjoy country life

First thing in the morning, you can drop in on the horses in the stable or pet the rabbits - that's what excites children and young people. In Brandenburg, there are many historic farms - often not far from Berlin - that have been extensively renovated and converted for vacationers. The Tornow mill near Zehdenick, for example, now houses a fine restaurant, a guesthouse and a farm store with products from the region. And the Rüsterhof in Görzig in the Oder-Spree lake district regularly wins prizes as the most popular vacation farm. There, the Melchert family runs a farm with many animals. The old fieldstone buildings have now been lovingly restored, and six vacation homes and a vacation apartment have been furnished. Those who wish can learn to ride on the Icelandic horses. But even those who are not interested in horses will find numerous recreational opportunities, where the hosts are happy to help. So you can rent bikes and canoes directly on the farm, try geocaching in the area or simply relax in the sauna house.

Plus:

*Getting to know country life

*Naturalness

*Vacation with animals, often also horses

Hotel vacation - breathe city air

If you are planning a trip to the state capital Potsdam or a short vacation in one of the other cultural cities of Brandenburg, then an overnight stay in a hotel is a natural choice. You don't have to pack much, you're well taken care of and you can often stay so centrally that you don't even need a car. Many hotels have special offers for families, such as the AHORN Seehotel Templin on the banks of the Lübbeck. In addition to an indoor pool and sauna, there is also a bowling alley and a small movie theater. At the Maxx by Steigenberger Sanssouci Potsdam, on the other hand, the rooms are designed around the theme of film - matching the city with the Babelsberg film studios. It's a great opportunity to philosophize about cinema with older children, and perhaps visit the Film Museum in Potsdam. But the Maxx by Steigenberger is also a perfect starting point for a visit to the palace parks.

Plus:

*All around comfort

*no need to prepare food yourself

*central location in cities

*special offers for families in many places

Houseboat - rocking to sleep

Chugging comfortably through the seemingly endless Brandenburg lake landscape on a houseboat or raft - such a vacation has the potential for beautiful, shared memories. Several lakes in Brandenburg are connected via waterways, canals or even directly with each other. So there are hardly any limits. And for many boats and waters in Brandenburg you don't even need a boating license. A detailed briefing is sufficient. In the evening you can anchor in a quiet bay and enjoy the sunset together with ducks and gray herons. Boat trips also build team spirit, because you have to prove yourself as a team in locks or during mooring maneuvers. You'll experience a lot of new things along the way, and you'll be close to nature and the water. That's relaxing! In addition to the classic, nowadays super comfortable houseboats, you can rent rafts that are equipped with a real vacation apartment on deck. Or you can rent a simple wooden raft with a large bedroom and feel like Huckleberry Finn for a few days.

Plus:

* try something new together

* be a team

* Proximity to nature and water

* Beach vacations

* Adventure
