The route reads like a treasure map, every stop promises an experience: four times a day, with easily remembered departure times, the fleet makes the rounds between Radolfzell and the island of Reichenau, Gaienhofen and Hemmenhofen, and the Swiss towns of Mannenbach, Berlingen and Steckborn. With the Hop-On Hop-Off ticket, adults receive a day pass for only 19 euros/franc - families are already on board for 49 euros/franc. Bicycles can also join the boundless autumn hopping tour free of charge. This year, Schweizerische Schifffahrtgesellschaft Untersee und Rhein (URh), in cooperation with REGIO Konstanz-Bodensee-Hegau e.V. and Thurgau Tourismus, is extending the shipping season well into the fall for the fifth time.

Hiking and biking trails Directly from the port

Each landing site is also the starting point promising cycling or hiking tours in the varied surrounding countryside. Temptations abound. The view from Hochwart over the World Heritage island of Reichenau, for example. The fertile Höri peninsula dotted with vegetable stands. In Radolfzell, you can walk along the lake to the nature reserve of the Mettnau peninsula or go shopping. Or Steckborn: Here the mythical Fabelweg invites the whole family to exercise. The Tour Napoléon takes you past magnificent castles. The terrace of the Napoleon Museum at Arenenberg spoils the eye with a unique view of the lake and the Hegau volcanoes. And those who want to follow the Rhine on its way through Untersee can let the fresh autumn wind tousle their hair on the Rhine Trail bike route Kreuzlingen-Schaffhausen.

In cultural and culinary abundance indulge

The numerous destinations of the region open their doors wide for fall hoppers: Exciting exhibitions and guided tours await visitors. Those who want to be inspired by great names such as Hermann Hesse, Otto Dix, Napoléon, Adolf Dietrich or Fritz Mühlenweg are in good hands in the museums at Untersee or visit the stations of the ArtRoute, which can be found on both the German and Swiss side of the lake. For those who want to delve deeper into the history(s) of the villages and small towns on the lake, the guided tour of Radolfzell or the Berlinger village tour are recommended. In addition to scenic and cultural delights, hotels offer arrangements on these weekends. Autumnal specialties of the region are served in the restaurants and allow gourmets to enjoy the fullness of the Untersee.
