The beach of Binz on the Baltic Sea island of Rügen is known for its beauty. And the sophisticated town with its seaside resort architecture has a lot more in common with other dream beach destinations - couples in love can also get married here on the beach, for example.

By train to Binz: Plan arrival

The sand is light and fine grained and the beach endlessly long. The waves lapping peacefully on shore today, and there is hardly any wind. The clink of glasses and soft music emanate from the cafés on the beach promenade. How nice that all this is not so far from home: Rügen can be reached quickly and easily by train, and Binz is the most popular seaside resort on Germany's largest island.

On the five kilometer long beach everyone discovers his favorite place. Those who have then bathed extensively and relaxed in the sun will also find plenty of variety in Binzer Bucht if they wish. For active vacationers, there are offers ranging from surfing to sea kayaking and stand-up paddling to pedal boat and banana boat excursions. A total of 74 beach accesses lead to the water, the quality of which is awarded the international environmental symbol "Blue Flag" every year. Young and old love shell hunting, there are designated textile, nudist and dog beach sections, and DLRG lifeguards ensure safety during the bathing season.

Of course many cool beach bars are open in summer and invite you to end the day with cool beer and delicious cocktails. People of all ages then gather and enjoy the sunset together. Similar to Mauritius and other dream locations, Binz is also perfect for honeymooners, by the way - in a former rescue tower styled in an avant-garde way by local country architect Ulrich Müther directly in the dunes at beach access 6, couples in love can even get married, with a view of the Baltic Sea and a perfect backdrop for the subsequent souvenir photo on the Baltic Sea beach.

White villas with playful turrets, filigree verandas, oriels and balconies in the style of seaside architecture, a long pier, first-class gastronomy and lots of greenery and nature all around - all these are further qualities of Binz. The best conditions for a beautiful beach vacation with culture and pleasure.

The special tip: In the deep forest a few kilometers southeast of Binz stands the hunting lodge Granitz from 1837 on the 106 meter high Tempelberg - a great destination with a good restaurant and an impressive panoramic view of the island.
